Overview
In the Outcome Tree View, outcomes appear in a cascading hierarchy starting from Strategic Objectives at the top and flowing down through Key Results, Initiatives, and even Checklists.
Each level expands like branches on a tree, giving you a complete view of how every effort connects to the overall strategy.
At the top of the screen, you’ll find the total number of outcome cards currently displayed in the tree your quick snapshot of everything in motion.
It’s simple, structured, and surprisingly fun to explore.
🎥 Watch the video below to learn how to add Key Results and Projects in a hierarchical structure!
Navigating the Tree Structure
Each outcome or project card is listed in a collapsible format:
A caret (▸) next to a title indicates that the card has child elements tied to it.
Click the caret to expand and reveal all related Key Results or child cards.
You can continue expanding to view initiatives, sub-initiatives, and checklists, offering a complete hierarchy of your organization’s work.
This allows you to navigate easily from top-level strategic goals all the way down to the individual tasks driving progress.
Adding Key Results and Initiatives
From the Outcome Tree View, you can create new Key Results or child Initiatives directly under an existing outcome:
Click the plus (+) icon next to the desired outcome title.
Select Add Key Result or Add Initiative.
Complete the required fields, and your new card will automatically appear under the selected parent.
This makes it simple to grow your outcome hierarchy without leaving the tree view.
Understanding the Hierarchy View
The hierarchy view in this layout displays multiple layers of connected work:
Top Level – Strategic Objectives or primary outcomes.
Second Level – Key Results tied to those outcomes.
Third Level – Initiatives or projects supporting the key results.
Final Level – Checklists or task-level items used to track specific progress details.
This structured breakdown offers a clear line of sight into how all activities contribute to the achievement of higher-level goals.
Color Indicators
Next to each Card ID, you’ll notice a small color block.
This color corresponds to the color assigned to that card on the Board View.
Consistent color coding helps users visually connect cards between the Outcome Tree and other dashboard views.
For example under Progress the color code is consistent with the platform:
🟢 Green – On Track
🟡 Yellow – Watch
🔴 Red – Delayed
These same colors carry over from your Board and Grid views for consistency.
Details Displayed in the View
Each row in the Outcome Tree includes relevant data for quick context:
Card Title – The name of the Outcome, KR, or Initiative.
Progress – Percentage completed, represented with a progress bar.
Status – Current performance (On Track, Delayed, Watch, etc.).
Team – The team or department associated with the card.
Updated By – The most recent user who made an update.
For Key Results, you’ll also see Baseline, Target, Stretch, and Actual values.
Summary
The Outcome Tree View brings strategy to life helping you see how every goal, result, and initiative grows together into one unified vision.
It’s your living map of progress, alignment, and achievement proof that when strategy and execution connect, great things take root.
