Dashboard: Media Widgets

Purpose

Media Widgets bring your workspace to life by allowing you to embed images, videos, and PDF documents directly within your dashboard. Instead of switching between applications or searching for supporting documentation, users can access important visual content exactly where work happens.

Media Widgets enhance communication, improve engagement, and provide additional context alongside metrics, KPIs, objectives, and project data.

Whether you're sharing executive updates, progress reports, design mockups, training videos, strategic presentations, or supporting documentation, Media Widgets help transform your dashboard into a centralized hub for both performance tracking and visual storytelling.

As a user, I want to use Media Widgets to share visual content, documentation, and video updates directly within my dashboard so that stakeholders have the context they need without leaving the platform.

Media Widgets allow users to:

Overview

The Media Widget section provides three different widget types that allow users to enhance dashboard content with visual and supporting materials.

Image Carousel

Upload and display one or more images within an interactive slideshow.

PDF Viewer

Upload PDF documents and view them directly from the dashboard without downloading files.

Video Widget

Embed videos directly into the dashboard to provide updates, presentations, demonstrations, walkthroughs, and leadership communications.

Each Media Widget can be customized with a title and description and can be edited, updated, or removed at any time.

These widgets help transform dashboards from static reporting tools into engaging communication hubs.

Media Widget Types

Image Carousel

The Image Carousel allows users to upload and display multiple images within a single widget.

Images can be used to share:

  • Project screenshots
  • Design mockups
  • Roadmaps
  • Team photos
  • Progress visuals
  • Marketing materials
  • Training resources

Users can scroll through uploaded images directly from the dashboard.

Image Carousel Features

  • Upload multiple images

  • Update images at any time

File Size Limit

Images may be uploaded up to 100 MB in size.

PDF Viewer

The PDF Viewer allows users to display PDF documents directly on the dashboard.

This feature eliminates the need to download documents and provides quick access to important files.

PDFs commonly include:

  • Executive reports
  • Strategic plans
  • Meeting summaries
  • Project documentation
  • Training materials
  • Policies and procedures

PDF Viewer Features

  • Upload PDF documents up to 100 MB
  • View documents directly within the dashboard
  • Replace documents as needed
  • Add titles and descriptions
  • Remove outdated files

File Size Limit

PDF files may be uploaded up to 100 MB in size.

Video Widget

The Video Widget allows users to embed video content directly within the dashboard.

Videos help teams communicate information more effectively by combining visual storytelling with traditional dashboard metrics.

Adding Media Widgets

To add Media Widgets to your dashboard:

  1. Open your dashboard.
  2. Click Add Widget.
  3. Select the Media category.

  1. Choose the widget type:
  • Image Carousel
  • PDF Viewer
  • Video Widget
  1. Configure the selected widget.
  2. Click Save.

The widget will now appear on your dashboard.

Adding an Image Carousel

To add images:

  1. Select Image Carousel.
  2. Click Upload Images.
  3. Select one or more image files.
  4. Add a title and description if desired.
  5. Click Save.

Images will be displayed within a scrollable carousel.

Adding a PDF Viewer

To add a PDF document:

  1. Select PDF Viewer.
  2. Click Upload PDF.
  3. Select a PDF file.
  4. Add a title and description if desired.
  5. Click Save.

The PDF will display directly within the dashboard.

Adding a Video Widget

To add a video:

  1. Select Video Widget.
  2. Paste the video URL into the video field.
  3. Add a title and description if desired.
  4. Click Save.

The video will display directly within the dashboard.

Editing Media Widgets

Media Widgets can be updated at any time.

To edit a widget:

  1. Locate the widget.
  2. Click the ellipsis menu (⋮).
  3. Select Edit Widget.

Users can:

  • Update titles
  • Update descriptions
  • Replace images
  • Replace PDF documents
  • Replace video links
  • Modify widget content

After making changes, click Save.

Removing Media Widgets

If a widget is no longer needed:

  1. Click the ellipsis menu (⋮).
  2. Select Remove Widget.

The widget will be removed from the dashboard.

Removing a widget does not affect other dashboard content.

Best Practices

To maximize the value of Media Widgets:

Image Carousel

  • Use high-quality images.
  • Keep image collections focused on a single topic.
  • Update visuals regularly.

PDF Viewer

  • Upload finalized documents whenever possible.
  • Replace outdated files promptly.
  • Use descriptive titles.

Video Widget

  • Keep videos short and focused (1–3 minutes).
  • Use videos for executive summaries and project updates.
  • Ensure video links are accessible to intended viewers.
  • Update content regularly.
