Overview

Outcome Widgets display objectives, key results, KPIs, obstacles, and other performance-related items in a customizable dashboard layout. Each widget represents a specific outcome or group of outcomes, giving users quick visibility into progress, health, and alignment.

Users can create dashboards for different needs, such as:

  • Executive performance reviews
  • Department-level tracking
  • Team-level progress updates
  • Strategic outcome monitoring
  • KPI and Key Result visibility
  • Obstacle tracking

Dashboards can be customized so users can focus on the outcomes and performance metrics most relevant to their role.

To create a new dashboard, start within the Achieve Outcomes area of the platform. The Dashboard feature allows you to organize, visualize, and monitor progress on outcomes, key results, and other performance metrics.

  5. Click Save.

Your dashboard is now created and ready for widget customization.

Adding Outcomes as Widgets

After creating a dashboard, you can add widgets to display the outcomes, Key Results, KPIs, or obstacles you want to track.

To add Outcome Widgets:

  1. From your dashboard, click Add Widget.

  2. Choose to add outcomes from either:

    • Key Results (KRs)

    • Obstacles

  3. Within the Outcome tile, select one or multiple outcomes you’d like to display.

  4. Once added, the widget will appear on your dashboard.

Selecting Multiple Outcomes

Users can select more than one outcome when creating a widget.

When multiple outcomes are selected, each outcome is displayed within the widget so users can compare progress side by side. This is helpful when tracking several Key Results, KPIs, or obstacles that support the same business goal.

Example use cases include:

  • Tracking multiple Key Results under one objective
  • Comparing team-level progress
  • Monitoring several KPIs for one department
  • Viewing related obstacles in one dashboard area

Understanding Outcome Widget Data

Each Outcome Widget may display different details depending on the type of item selected. Common data points include:

FieldDescription
Outcome NameThe name of the selected outcome, Key Result, KPI, or obstacle
Percentage CompleteThe current progress percentage
Actual ValueThe current recorded value
Target ValueThe goal or expected value
BaselineThe starting value used for comparison
Created DateThe date the item was created
Last Updated DateThe most recent date the item was updated
DescriptionAdditional context about the item
Growth IndicatorVisual indicator showing progress direction, if enabled
Sub-targetsPeriod-based targets, if enabled

This information helps users understand not only the current status, but also how the outcome is progressing over time.

Widget Display Views

Outcome Widgets can be viewed in different layouts depending on how much detail users want to see.

Card View

Card View displays the full widget details in a visual card format. This view is best when users want to see detailed performance information, including progress, actuals, targets, baselines, and descriptions.

Use Card View when:

  • Reviewing a smaller number of important outcomes
  • Presenting performance to leaders
  • Tracking detailed progress
  • Comparing actuals against targets

Linear View

Linear View displays outcomes in a simplified list format. This view is best when users want to scan several outcomes quickly.

Use Linear View when:

  • Monitoring a large number of outcomes
  • Reviewing status quickly
  • Comparing multiple items in a compact layout
  • Creating a cleaner dashboard view

Customizing Outcome Widgets

Outcome Widgets can be customized to control how information appears on the dashboard.

Depending on available settings, users may be able to:

  • Edit the widget title
  • Add or remove selected outcomes
  • Change the display layout
  • Show or hide descriptions
  • Include sub-targets
  • Show growth indicators
  • Display additional metric details
  • Rearrange widget placement on the dashboard

These options allow users to create dashboards that match their workflow and reporting needs.

Editing and Managing Widgets

Users can update widgets at any time to keep dashboards accurate and relevant.

Edit a Widget

Use the edit option to update widget details, change selected outcomes, or adjust display settings.

Customize a Widget

Use customization options to control what information appears, such as descriptions, sub-targets, growth indicators, or layout preferences.

Remove a Widget

Remove a widget when it is no longer needed or no longer supports the dashboard’s purpose.

Remove a Dashboard

Delete a dashboard when you no longer need the entire dashboard or want to rebuild it from scratch.

Note: Removing a widget from a dashboard does not delete the original outcome, Key Result, KPI, or obstacle. It only removes the widget from that dashboard view.

Dashboard Metrics

Outcome Widgets provide important performance metrics to help teams understand progress and make decisions.

Common dashboard metrics include:

  • Overall percentage complete
  • Actual value
  • Target value
  • Baseline value
  • Created date
  • Last updated date
  • Update history, if available

Data Refresh and Updates

Outcome Widgets reflect the latest saved data available in the platform. When an outcome, Key Result, KPI, or obstacle is updated, the widget will display the updated information once the change has been saved and the dashboard is refreshed or reloaded.

If the widget does not appear to show the latest data, confirm that:

  • The source item was saved successfully.
  • You have access to view the updated item.
  • The dashboard has been refreshed.
  • The item has not been archived or removed.

Best Practices

To get the most value from Outcome Widgets:

  • Create separate dashboards for executive, department, and team views.
  • Use Card View for high-priority outcomes that need more detail.
  • Use Linear View when tracking many outcomes at once.
  • Keep dashboards focused on the most important metrics.
  • Remove outdated widgets to reduce clutter.
  • Review dashboards regularly during check-ins or leadership meetings.
  • Use widgets to highlight progress, risks, and areas needing support.

Summary

Outcome Widgets turn performance data into a clear, visual story. They help teams monitor progress, compare actuals against targets, review baselines, and stay focused on the outcomes that matter most.

By creating dashboards and adding Outcome Widgets, users can build a personalized command center for performance tracking, strategic alignment, and decision-making.
