Understanding Benchmarking
AgilityHealth offers the option of having benchmarking turned on or off for your company for assessment results at the Enterprise, Multi-Team and/or Team level. Benchmarking is currently available for our TeamHealth®, DevOps and Enterprise Business Agility (EBA) Radars.
What is Benchmarking?
Benchmarking allows companies to see how the results from their assessments at the Enterprise, Multi-Team and/or Team level compare to other companies within AgilityHealth (global benchmarking) and to see how the results from Multi-Team and/or Team level assessments compare to other Multi-Team and/or Team level assessments within your own company.
You can choose to turn on/off benchmarking at any or all levels - Enterprise, Multi-Team and Team. You can also opt-in/out of global benchmarking. Results are for the latest assessment from each included team for an assessment taken within the 5 years.
How do I see Benchmark Comparisons for Assessments Within my Company?
If benchmarking is enabled for your company, you will find the option in the dropdown list available in the upper right-hand corner on the radar for your assessment results.
Here is an example of how to get there for an Enterprise level radar.
1. From the Team Dashboard, click on the team icon for the Enterprise team whose assessment results you would like to analyze. By clicking on the team icon, you will be taken to the results radar. In this case, we chose the Enterprise Portfolio team.
*Note: If you choose a Multi-Team or an Individual Team, clicking on the team icon will take you to the assessments page, where a radar icon for each assessment will be shown. Click on the assessment radar icon for the assessment you wish to analyze to get to the results radar for that assessment.
2. Once on the results radar page, choose Benchmarking from the dropdown list in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Choose your Benchmarking Against Option in the box that pops up. The below image shows options for an Enterprise level radar for the A1 Finance company that has opted into global benchmarking. If the company had opted out of global benchmarking, AgilityHealth would not be an option to benchmark against.
4. As noted in the image below, at the Enterprise level, you can choose from many options in the dropdown as a Benchmarking Option. Depending on which option you choose, an additional dropdown will appear giving you even more options to filter by.
*Note: The Benchmarking Options are different based on whether you're in assessment radar results for an Enterprise, Multi-Team or Team.
5. After choosing your Benchmarking Option, choose another option from the dropdown that appears based on your Benchmarking Option selection.
6. Click the Select button and your benchmarking results will appear.
How do I see Benchmark Comparisons Across All Companies in AgilityHealth?
Benchmarking your radar results across all companies in AgilityHealth is called Global Benchmarking. In order to do this comparison, both Benchmarking and Global Benchmarking must be enabled for your company.
If benchmarking is enabled for your company, you will find the option in the dropdown list available in the upper right-hand corner on the radar for your assessment results.
Here is an example of how to get to Global Benchmarking for an Enterprise level radar.
To start your Global Benchmarking comparison, choose AgilityHealth.
4. As noted in the image below, at the Enterprise level, you can choose from many options in the dropdown as a benchmarking option. The options are All Teams, Work Type, Maturity and Industry.
5. After choosing your Benchmarking Option, an additional dropdown will appear giving you even more options to filter by, unless you choose Industry, which is pre-set for your company by your Customer Success Manager and does not have additional dropdown options.
The Industry list that your Customer Success Manager will work with your Company Admin to choose the best industry for your company includes:
6. Click the Select button and your benchmarking results will appear.
What Benchmarking Results will I see?
Whether you choose to benchmark within your company or choose global benchmarking, the same results are available. On the left side of the page, you will see the key showing what the shading on the radar represents. You will also see how many assessments the benchmarking is based on.
The radar will show you shading representing your original radar results versus the benchmarking option you chose.
To return to the Benchmarking Options pop-up, click the wrench icon in the upper right-hand corner of the page, next to the drop-down list. You can also export a PDF of the results by clicking the PDF icon.
You can view additional benchmark results by scrolling down the page. You can view by dimension, how your radar results compare to the benchmark option you chose.
You can see analytics such as the top 5 and lowest 5 competencies. The percentages show how your radar results compare to the benchmark option you chose.
You can also see analysis broken out by dimension, sub-dimension and competency. This section can be exported to Excel if desired.
