Structural Agility: Role Distribution Widgets

Role Distribution Widgets

Based on the team(s) in the level you have selected in the left navigation, the Role Distribution widgets display information for the individual teams at the bottom of the hierarchy that roll up to the level you selected and how many team members are in each role by Work Type.

Roles are identified via the Role(s) added to their team member profile. The roles displayed belong to the individual teams at the bottom of the hierarchy that roll up to the level you have selected in the left navigation. If you choose an individual team in the left navigation, the role options will be the ones assigned to that team's members. If you choose a multi-team, enterprise team, or n-tier team and team members are on multiple teams, they are counted as one role only.

Work Type is identified by the team's Work Type tag and you can select the Work Type you wish to see data for in the drop-down at the top of the widget. The work types displayed belong to the individual teams at the bottom of the hierarchy that roll up to the level you have selected in the left navigation. If you choose an individual team in the left navigation, the only work type option will be the one assigned to that team. 

Team members may have more than one role assigned to them on a team so you may have more Roles than you do Team Members. 

Up to seven roles are displayed in these widgets, all other roles will be displayed in the "Others" category. Scrum Master and Product Owner roles will always display if they are assigned to team members in the team. The other roles that display are those held by the highest percentage of team members in the team. To edit/add roles for team members, you will need to edit the team and team members.  

The below examples show results for a multi-team based on the work type of Software Delivery in the first example and Business Operations in the second. Notices that the Roles displayed differ based on what Roles are associated with the teams in their respective Work Types that roll up to the multi-team.

If you hover over a piece of the pie in the pie chart or a single bar in the bar chart, a pop-up will appear with more detail.
